an afternoon with our tahlequah 'tiger'

had such a sweet time hanging out with precious blake, our tahlequah tiger, last weekend while mom and dad went on a date......he had us both hankering for our own celery stick by the end of the afternoon!  we're so blessed!

One of the many joys of this season for us is being able to do things like attend Kady Grace's class parties......yeah, go ahead and be oh-so-jealous.......

rainy friday.....

Today's been a cozy 'inside' day as we watched some much-needed light rain fall.......silas had looked forward to another marshmallow roast so Pop built a great fire in the fireplace and we roasted them inside!  There's always a 'workaround', right?

watch out, bobby flay......silas has become quite a culinary officiando.....whipping up some pumpkin pudding for us today!  we were all too happy to brew another pot 'o joe to go along with that!  yum!

after silas and noni played a couple of good games of checkers and watched some cartoons and read lots of books and drew some pictures, he crafted with play-doh for good amount of time!

Cora was fascintated with Pop's tending of the fire and got real excited every time he stoked the logs and the flames danced....but she REALLY got excited when he settled down by the fire with some of Si's pumpkin pudding! Don't worry, mom and dad, she's been eating her fruits and veggies, too;)

Dining out and Christmas Lights

Well, isn't it just like a Wiley.....you can't go anywhere without running into friends!  We 'dined' at Chick-Fil-A, adjacent to Pearce and Shepherd Brann and their dad and the McKinney clan was at another table.  We heard, "Hi, Silas, hi, Cora" from yet another unidentified family at another table!  Good times!

It was a perfect night to enjoy the amazing lights at Rhema...acres and acres of them!  Silas was enthralled at every turn.  And Cora actually seemed to be paying attention to some of them, too.  It wasn't as cold as had been predicted and that was good for all of us.

Silas' favorite lights (now, and when we took him last year)  didn't 'capture' well in this picture (the 'teardrop' ones that move), but we made a short video of him talking about them that we'll show you when you get home.

Nitey-nite!

thursday morning in the chilly oklahoma sunshine

after a walk in the neighborhood (while Pop was taking Silas to school and then going to the gym) we played with bubbles in the morning sunshine......

Our plans are to 'bookend' this lovely day with dinner at Chick-fil-A and
                         Christmas lights at Rhema tonite.

Out and about

Well, Silas was at school this morning, Cora and I had a little fun with 'dress-up'...

all was well until I put a beret on her.....she couldn't get that thing off fast enough!  Guess if that girl's feelings are this strong this early, she'll be ordering 'Freedom Fries' with that burger!

After lunch we bundled up and headed to Hunter park for some scootering/strollering and general mischief.....covered all bases, for sure!

                                    "Watch my scooter spark, Pop!"

Ready to roll in style!

The ever-gregarious Silas found a sweet friend and they had a good time!
We have a "Where's Waldo...er, uh, Where's Wiley" Map on which we're tracking your travels, mom and dad.  We added the conversation bubble with words from you today and the countdown, which we'll cross off each day, as your arrival nears.  Little did we know that the whole "Where's Waldo" phenomenon was unknown to Silas, SO we went to the Hardesty Library and checked out every Where's Waldo book they had and had a blast with them when we got home.  Now he 'gets' why you're wearing red and white striped shirts.;)

Nitey-nite!

The rest of Tuesday.....

For a day that started out at 14 degrees, it turned out absolutely beautiful (in every way).  There was even some sandbox time for Silas while Cora and I circled the backyard paths(strollering), enjoying the aroma of the pinion wood in the firepit. And y' know what they say about a 'picture being worth a thousand words'?  Well, I'll just leave you with these pictures of Si and his marshmallow roasting, because I don't think any words I could bring could add anything to his sweet expressions........

After dinner, we pulled out the magic glasses so he could watch himself pull the rootbeer through the straw that wrapped around his ears, encircled his eyes, and ended up in his mouth.  He enjoyed that, too.

And before bedtime we made sure there was time for the 'cootie champ' to enjoy another victorious game.
nitey-nite!

Cora's morning.....while bro is away.....

the little one will play.....on and off captivated by Praise Baby, then her own version of 'downward facing dog' (everytime I did it, she'd copy) and seemingly endless play with the nativity set (Tray-Ray, Fa-leel, and Heffe got plenty of attention......and got ferried around in the back of a Fischer -Price farm truck...bet that was an 'out of culture/time warp' experience for them, huh?)

more to come later after Silas is home from school.....there's no wind today, so, altho it's chilly, there'll probably be some marshmallow roastin' in the backyard;)  a promise is a promise, y' know!
