yeah, it's me again

okay......I promise not to always do so many posts in one day, but I'm attempting to learn this new skill...(they say that's a good thing, y'know, like taking fish oil and stuff) so bear with me.  we just returned from a lovely sunday afternoon drive/date to the Tidal School Winery in Drumright, site of an oil field discovery that exceeded the yield of the California Gold Rush.  The Tidal School was built to serve the needs of the children of the oil field workers and, after it fell into disrepair, although it was of historic significance, it was going to be demolished.  The current owners bought it for $1 with the stipulation that they'd have to turn it into something of significance.  And what could be more significant than a working winery (buy local, right?), where you can have a personalized tour and hear the story, see the original flooring, pictorial history, enjoy tastings in their tasting room and a glass of your favorite with a cheese/fruit/cracker tray, then walk among among the vines with your beloved under these soft september skies?  We learned that they've planted rose bushes at the end of each row of vines because plant predators will attack roses before they'll attack anything else....so they're kind of a barometer in the garden.  Met a plant we'd never seen before-called a moonflower-which only blooms at night.  Fun way to spend this Sunday afternoon.....now we're ready for some football!
